How to survive an overnight train ride

Cape+Kantary is a magazine that you will find in all the Cape and Kantary Properties. In every edition, there is always an article that we like to share

In this edition - https://www.capekantaryhotels.com/ckmagazine/Issue15/index.html - (Pages 54-55) one writer chose to travel on the train overnight in Thailand. Original text courtesy of Trevor Ranges.

Fine Print - Book ahead and at the station, weekends can be busy, try and take a toilet break as soon as possible and bring your own sanitizer and tissues (just in case)

Etiquette - Wear headphones, be careful of your feet, choose a higher sleeping bunk (unless you are in First Class of course) BUT other people don’t always do this.

Food - bring your own, onboard dining is a bit hit and miss, there is always a number of food vendors who hop on and off the trains - BUT currently no alcohol.

Entertainment - is out of the window! - there is none offered (although some are offering WiFi) so you need to pack with a little thought and all those cables and batteries - BUT do not play cards, even solitaire.

Dress - 2nd and 3rd class get a little hot, so something loose would be ideal. 1st class can become a little cold so wrap up warm. In both cases slip on/off shoes would be ideal
