Kung Hei Fat Choi!

Cape Panwa Hotel welcomed the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Rabbit with Chef Phudon’s traditional Chinese dishes of roast pig, dim sum and other scrumptious favourites.

The staff dressed in traditional Chinese dress and were happy to have their photograph taken with the guests.

The pool was festooned with Chinese Lanterns and traditional red envelopes, which were actually not used, well Tim tells me that he did not receive an envelope – maybe red envelopes should be handed out to guests next time?

The Chinese buffet dinner started and we were entertained by the inimitable Chaovalit Band as we ate.

Chinese dragons then arrived with an entourage of dancing children which then wove its way around the tables and around the pool dancing to the rhythm of drums. (Editor: I wonder how come nobody fell in? Maybe in the Year of the fish?)

              

A Golf Cart Tale

Tim’s hopes were raised sky high when he heard that the hotel was purchasing a Golf Cart. 

Did this mean that the hotel was going to buy him a real set of golf clubs? After all, his Chinese Nike set were beginning to show signs of demise OR were they going to pay him to play golf with the guests?

Neither: The Golf Cart was bought to ferry guests from the lobby to the newly constructed Junior Suites in T, U and V wings.

The bell boys will be taking care of the golf cart and in the meantime Tim’s golf hasn't got much better…

              

A Happy New Year present

Tara and Neil were married on the beach at Cape Panwa and they now have a beautiful little girl called Yasmin...

Now that they have visited us for the tenth time this means that they were entitled to a free Sunset Cruise on the Panwa Princess and they accordingly treated their friends by inviting them along. All in all, with Cape Panwa and Kantary Bay guests there were a total of 25 adults and seven children and all the invited guests had a Privilege Card as well!
