Just Say Yes!

Cape+Kantary is a magazine that you will find in all the Cape and Kantary Properties - . In this edition - (Pages 58-62) there is the article ‘Just Say Yes’ which is about getting married here in Thailand. 

The Cape Nidhra, Cape Panwa and Cape Kudu Team also tell us about their experiences when they took care of proposals, weddings and much more at their hotels.

Come rain or shine at Cape Nidhra Hotel – where the rain stopped just before the fireworks were planned to go off and the man got down on one knee. 

Prime Proposal spots at CapePanwa Hotel – where the ring was hidden on the tray with fresh coconuts and the bride was so excited that she knocked the whole tray over into sand!!!

An impromptu I do at Cape Kudu Hotel – the man had been planning the proposal for months and then the lady started dreaming and asked the staff to prepare the flowers, the music, the camera… that same day – she said yes!

Do you dream of a tropical beachside wedding?

Getting married is one of life’s “big moments” and I know that at Cape Panwa Hotel they can make it special for you – because I keep seeing people getting married there…not to mention they have a beautiful private palm-fringed beach.

The most remarkable thing is that each wedding seems to be different. I mentioned this to one of the Front Office staff – the chatty, happy and gregarious ‘Pavinee’ – and she told me it is because the entire team at Cape Panwa Hotel find it a pleasure and consider it an honour to help out with a wedding.  Her favourite bit is helping the bride and groom to pose for photographs on Cape Panwa Hotel’s private jetty.

While Tim, the Guest Relations Manager, takes care of the bridal couple on their special day as well as posts a record of the ceremony on his ‘wedding blog’ for people who were unable to come and the bride and groom to share instantly.

I also found out that Krittaya, the Wedding Co-Ordinator, is in charge of organising everything else before the couple arrive. If you would like them to organise your special day for you please contact Krittaya.

Dreams do come true

The beach of Kantary Beach Hotel, Khao Lak was like a dream come true when I visited last week – the ocean was calm and the fine white sand seemed to stretch on forever into the distance.

I sat on the wooden swing watching the sunset and fantasizing about a beautiful beachside wedding...

Imagine my surprise when I looked up to find my dream in front of me – a bride in her gown was strolling with her husband along the beach.

I think I would like to get married here…

              

Weddings, technology and photographs

Although technology has moved us into the age of the app, online communication and electronic libraries, we at Cape Panwa Hotel are well aware that there are a great many people who still like to turn a page.

So we took all our digital photographs of the weddings celebrated here and printed them out to make a special "Cape Panwa Hotel Wedding Album" in honour of all the couples who chose to get married on this "little piece of Paradise".

Congratulations to Jodie and Dean

Jodie and Dean from New Zealand visited us last week specifically to exchange their vows on the grass lawn in front of Panwa House.  Prior to the big day the couple and their bridal party, who had all flown in especially, had a wonderful time – a trip to Raya Island, a trip to the glitzy Simon’s Cabaret and a trip on John Gray Sea Canoe.  I am not sure where the boys ended up but it was probably not far from Simon's…

Every detail of Jodie and Dean's wedding day was immaculately planned by Krittaya, Cape Panwa's efficient event organizer, long before the couple arrived – a surprise elephant visit, fireworks AND Jodie even brought a selection of wedding dresses with her! 

There were smiles everywhere, tears were wiped and emotions shared.  Today was a beautiful day, surrounded by a group of lovely people who were at Cape Panwa for only one thing – Jodie and Dean.

Happy Valentines

Cape Panwa started Valentine’s Day early with the quiet wedding of Rosala and Roberto.

Then flowers were delivered to the guests from their partners and a bouquet for Kessera (who sits at the taxi desk) from an unknown admirer…

Later in the day a spectacular long drum-parade of children from the local school wound its way along the beach, accompanying Mike, who was getting married to Tanyagon.  Drinks and canapés followed their ceremony at Panwa House and the evening finished with spirit balloons soaring high into the night sky.

At the same time there was a special set dinner at Top of the Reef where dining couples were served special drinks and a violinist played whilst they ate.
